ACL Injury

ACL Injury

The Anterior Cruciate Ligament prevents the femur (thigh bone) from moving forwards when bearing weight and also prevents rotation of the joint. Injuries of the ACL happen most often when engagement with sport or exercise which may involve pivoting, suddenly slowing or stopping or landing a jump.

Most athletes who have experienced a tear of the ACL describes the sound as a loud ‘pop’ or ‘crack’. Hemarthrosis (bleeding into the joint cavity) can often occur with a torn ACL which will be visible as large painful swelling around the injury.

Bodyassist’s knee support and protection range offer maximum protection while healing as well as further support to assist in the swift recovery from injury.
