Hip Flexor Strain

Hip Flexor Strain

Hip Flexor Strain injury is generally caused when engaging in high impact sports that require kicking or fast acceleration such as AFL (Australian Football), Martial Arts and Dancing. The hip flexor is the group of muscles at the front of the hip. The most commonly injured muscle in the Hip Flexor area is the ‘iliopsoas’ – this muscle starts in the lower back and pelvis, connecting through to the thigh bone.

Hip Flexor Strain is generally categorised into Grades;
• Grade 1 is a small tear but still functional
• Grade 2 is a significant tear with moderate loss of movement
• Grade 3 is a complete rupture of the muscles with major loss of movement

Bodyassist’s Hip Flexor support products can help to encourage healing while providing compression, warmth and support to assist in swift recovery from injury
